This was also the case with a production line for the manufacture of ceramic injection molded feedstocks, which was recently delivered. Although the customer initially wanted to procure a shear roll, trials in our laboratory convinced him of the suitability of our twin-screw extruders for his requirements.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h6>\nAufgrund der Empfehlung eines bestehenden Kunden kam der erste Kontakt mit dem Kunden, der Z\u00fcrcher Hochschule f\u00fcr Angewandte Wissenschaften (ZHAW), zustande. Der Kunde war auf der Suche nach einer Scherwalze zur Herstellung von keramischen Spritzgussfeedstocks (CIM &#8211; ceramic injection molding) im Labormasstab. Mit dieser sollten aus einem Mischaggregat Batches von einem bis zehn Kilogramm hergestellt werden.<br \/>\nAls Spezialist f\u00fcr kundenspezifische Sonderl\u00f6sungen wollten wir dem Kunden Hand bieten, obwohl wir selbst bisher keine Scherwalzen hergestellt haben. Da die Technik von Scherwalzen und Extrudern verwandt ist, wurde in einem ersten Schritt vereinbart, auf einem bestehenden Doppelschneckenextruder im Three-Tec Labor Versuche durchzuf\u00fchren um zu testen, ob als Alternative auch ein Extruder f\u00fcr die Anwendung geeignet w\u00e4re. Zwar hatte der Kunde bereits einen Laborextruder eines Mitbewerbers, dieser war jedoch aufgrund des geringen Drehmoments und der zu wenig guten Mischwirkung ungeeignet, was den Kunden dazu bewog, sich auf eine Scherwalze zu fokussieren.\nDie Versuche bei Three-Tec wurden mit einem Extruder ZE 18 mit Schneckendurchmesser 18 mm und einer Prozessl\u00e4nge von L\/D 40 (720 mm) durchgef\u00fchrt, um dessen Leistung in Bezug auf Compoundierung und Homogenisierung zu testen. Dazu wurde ein Pulverdosierger\u00e4t f\u00fcr den Pre-Mix von drei Feststoffkomponenten verwendet, ein Granulatdosierger\u00e4t f\u00fcr den Pre-Mix von zwei Binderkomponenten, ein F\u00f6rderband f\u00fcr den gleichm\u00e4ssigen Abtransport und die Abk\u00fchlung des Extrudats sowie ein Granulator. Im Nachgang zu den Versuchen wurde die Reinigung des Extruders mit Reinigungsgranulat vorgenommen, wobei die Reinigungszeit gegen\u00fcber einer normalen manuellen Reinigung massiv verk\u00fcrzt werden konnte.<br \/>\nThe extruded and granulated materials from the tests were collected by the customer for further analysis.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.three-tec.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/P5.jpg\" alt=\"P5\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"510\" width=\"1000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.three-tec.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/P5.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.three-tec.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/P5-300x153.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.three-tec.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/P5-768x392.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.three-tec.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/P5-18x9.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" title=\"P5\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.three-tec.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/Extrudat_kl-circle.jpg\" alt=\"Extrudate_kl\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"228\" width=\"200\" title=\"Extrudate_kl\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p>The successful tests, which exceeded the customer's expectations, led to the order of the complete set of equipment with which the tests were carried out.<\/p>\n<p>The main reasons for the decision in favor of the extruder were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>extrusion as a continuous process incl. automated feeding of raw materials<\/li>\n<li>very good melting, homogenizing, dispersing properties<\/li>\n<li>a lower throughput time and a single-stage instead of a multi-stage process, compared to the existing laboratory extruder<\/li>\n<li>the resulting highly efficient production of ceramic injection molded feedstocks and significant simplification of work in the laboratory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The plant was specifically developed and produced by Three-Tec's specialists according to ZHAW's requirements. After efficient manufacturing time following the order, the new plant could finally be put into operation at the customer's site.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<p>\"In our search for a device for the homogenization of ceramic injection molding or 3D printing feedstocks, we contacted Three-Tec and were quickly convinced during initial tests on site that a high-performance extruder is more versatile for us in the area of research and development and easier to clean\/maintain than a shear roll, which we had also considered. The flat-tray feeders convince with up to ten times less residual quantity remaining in the hopper.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Die Flachbodendosierger\u00e4te von Three-Tec garantieren eine pr\u00e4zise volumetrische und gravimetrische Dosierung von gut bis schlecht fliessenden, feuchten oder br\u00fcckenbildenden Produkten mit Fliessf\u00e4higkeiten von ffc 1-5. Insbesondere bei Projekten im Pharma- und im Lebensmittelbereich setzen wir oft Flachbodendosierger\u00e4te ein, da h\u00e4ufig mit schlecht fliessenden Pulvern gearbeitet wird, hohe Anforderungen an die Reinigung gestellt werden und nur ein Minimum an Material im Trichter verbleiben darf.<\/p>\n<p>In tests in our internal test laboratory with poorly flowing micronized paracetamol, for example, the residual quantity in a normal hopper was 540 g, whereas in a device with a flat-tray with the same product and the same hopper volume and base, it was only 48 g. Thanks to the flat-tray, around ten times less material remained in the hopper.
