The Hybrid laboratory extruder combines two screw diameters in one device, enabling a direct transition between different process sizes without changing machines. Changeovers between 5 and 9, 5 and 12 or 9 and 12 millimeters can be carried out in just a few minutes. This seamlessly combines development and scale-up. The hybrid offers clear advantages, particularly in pharmaceutical development with many trials involving small quantities of material. These include minimal material consumption, high yield due to low residual quantities and reproducible scaling.
